Text to Speech Fun: Who's On First

Seems like with all of the issues with the Kindle and the new IPod being equipped with text to speech, there's much more awareness of text to speech engines. I keep seeing different remixes using the technology like the one below. It's Abbot and Costello's "Who's On First" performed by/in synthesized speech using different voices.

The advances technology has made are truly amazing. A text-to-speech compnay, Cepstral is working with an ALS patient to develop a text-to-speech "voice" he'll be able to use when his disease advances. http://www.cepstral.com/cgi-bin/news?page=2009-04-08-01

Thanks for your comment, looks interesting. I love the idea of preparing for that loss and allowing the individual to keep their own voice. It was many years before I realized Stephen Hawking was English, as all of the text to speech engines had American voices. I'd read somewhere that it bothered him as well. He is one who could have benefited from this technology
